Coolidge 50? What is it?

Coolidge 50: Bands From Each State Performing Their State Song -- a two-CD compilation that has taken over two years to research and compile. The double CD that features a band from each of the fifty states performing their state song. "It may have taken us two years, but it was worth it," says co-owner Jack Ball. "At least one member of each band is from the state they are representing. Most of the bands didn't even know what their state song was! It was an educational experience for everyone." Some notable bands on the compilation are The Laurels (Rhode Island), who recorded their state song at Providence City Hall with an introduction by Mayor Vincent "Buddy" Cianci. And the band Little A (Massachusetts) sent their song to Ex-Massachusetts Governor William F. Weld and received a letter back, which hailed the song as "creative and witty as it is gallant and refreshing." Also the band Kill Creek (Kansas) performs "Home On The Range" with the help of the Central Junior High School Excalibur Honor Choir, and jazz trumpeter Tommy Johnson. The photographs for the compact disc were taken by Nadia Vellam, an independent photographer from New York City.
